We’re running out of room!We’re selling our arcade cocktail cabinet made out of oak set up to play both vertical and horizontal arcade games. It currently has 1,944 classic arcade games on it ready to play (1,348 horizontal orientation, and 596 vertical orientation). The menu system will automatically swap between vertical and horizontal play lists depending on whether you use player 1 or player 2 controls to make it much easier to pick a game to play.

If you are not sure what the difference between horizontal and vertical orientation is, it’s just the way the game is displayed on the screen. Many commercial games had the screen sitting on its side (i.e. pac-man, donkey kong, 1942, dig dug, etc…), while others had the screen sitting the correct side up (street fighter 2, metal slug, bubble bobble, mortal kombat, etc…). This machine is set up to play both types of games with 3 different sides of controls.

This machine is made out of oak ply, and is stained a nice merlot and protected satin varnish. The control panels are custom made out of sheet metal and powder coated black for an attractive and durable finish. The controls are all commercial quality arcade controls made by Happ. All joysticks and buttons (including the player 1 and 2 start) are black to match the control panel finish, t-molding, and tinted tempered glass on top. It is a beautiful looking machine which can easily fit almost any décor.

The machine includes and is powered by a Dell Dimension 4500 with the following specs:

• Intel Pentium 4 2GHz
• 1GB RAM
• Microsoft Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3
• Dell 17″ CRT Display

Because it uses a modern computer, you are also able to load any computer games you wish onto the computer to play on your machine, or more arcade games as well. You could also hook the computer up to the internet and use it as a general purpose machine if really desired. It also makes it much easier to update the arcade machine in the future if you ever wish to, just replace this computer with a faster one. No computer expertise is needed though with this machine as it’s set to load directly into the Arcade software and use the arcade controls to navigate and play the games and menu. You don’t even need to hook up a separate keyboard and mouse if you don’t wish to. Machine comes with a manual to help with initial setup and general use.

If you’ve ever dreamed of owning your own arcade machine, this is the one for you, it has all of the functionality with the beautiful sleek look of a nice piece of furniture. I wish we didn’t have to sell it, but we have baby #2 on the way, and my wife tells me it’s time for this machine to go, my loss is your gain.
