Wellington has happily slept in his crib for almost two years now. He’s loved his crib with only one attempt at climbing out, has now moved on to bigger and better things. I wanted to get him a toddler bed for his 2nd birthday, but a deal came up too good to pass up, so he got his birthday present a little early.

It was the perfect bed for him. He’s obsessed with cars, all things that have to do with transportation really. Trucks, buses, trains, boats, tractors…. So a race car bed was perfect for him.

I’ve been searching on KSL.com classifieds almost daily, and very often would a bed come up, but it was either too much, or too far away to practically pick up. But when one came up only a mile or two away from our house, and a more than fair price, I grabbed it.

Wellington loves it. He’s slept in it for about 4 or 5 nights now. He’s doing OKAY with it. He gets out multiple times a night, and naps are a bit more interesting, but overall I think he’s transitioning very well.

I think the transition is more hard on me, because it requires more attention than just sticking him in his crib and “trapping” him there or using the crib as a means of punishment. Now when I threaten, “If you dont stop, your going to go to bed” he’s more than happy to oblige.

When he gets up in the morning, the first thing he says is, “Car”. He loves to show off his bed and lay down with his cousin Gray in it. He piles on his bears, baby dolls, and toys in with him.

He’s pretty cute in it, and I think he will continue to grow into his big boy bed (oh, my little baby is growing up).
