Mame Arcade Machine
Don’t you think its about time to get a Mame machine??! Buy Me, Buy Me, Buy Me!!!
This is a beautiful oak cocktail arcade cabinet that uses MAME to play THOUSANDS of arcade games (too many to count, if you are not familiar with MAME, it basically uses a computer to emulate arcade hardware and software to play thousands of arcade accurate games, see www.mame.net for more info).
This machine was cut out with a precision CNC machine (computer controlled router). The wood is 3/4″ oak ply, and is stained a beautiful merlot with a varnish to protect the finish.
There are 3 control panels allowing for easy play of both horizontal games (Street Fighter II, Metal Slug, Bubble Bobble, Star Wars, and thousands more) and vertical games (Pac-Man, 1943, Galaga, Donkey Kong, and thousands more). The control panels are made out of powder coated steel for a very durable and attractive finish. All controls are professional grade from Happ Controls.
The cocktail cabinet includes a Pentium III 933MHz PC with Windows ME installed, along with other arcade programs to help you play thousands of games. There is a 17″ monitor included with a sharp clear picture. We have also included a USB hub in the back to attach any USB devices to the computer so you can maintain and administrate the computer as neccisary. Also, because the machine uses a PC computer, the cabinet can also play many popular non arcade computer games (as well as be hooked up to the internet and perform any other computer tasks you require).

I have no idea what a MAME is. Please enlighten us older types. I can see it is some kind of a game control table, but that’s the end of my knowledge.
This is basically an arcade machine. It’s called a cocktail cabinet because the shape of it. People sit around it and look down at the top, there is a screen attached to the lid, that is pointing up, so you look down at it.
I never played cocktail cabinets in the arcades growing up, but many people did and they really have fond memories of sitting around them. We found the plans for this arcade online, and I thought it was the nicest looking cocktail cabinet I’ve ever seen (some of them look like a school desk, really odd looking).
MAME is just the program it runs that plays the games. It just has a computer in it, and MAME is installed on the computer. MAME stands for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. It’s a program a bunch of nerds have been writing for years that lets a computer play all the old arcade games (over 6,000 of them). It plays them arcade perfect since it uses programming to trick your computer into thinking it’s the actual arcade hardware/software. But basically all you need to know about MAME is that it’s a computer program that let’s you play thousands of arcade games.
Alot of people like these cocktail arcade cabinets because they look more like furniture than a standard arcade cabinet. Many wives won’t let a big ugly cabinet into their house (I’m just lucky I guess, Mel is VERY understanding), but they will allow something like this in, so it’s a win win for some people.
Pretty cool, and a very nice job! Wow! I like the stain color you picked, really looks nice, and it makes the whole thing look like a piece of furniture instead of just s game cabinet. And I am one of the many wives that wouldn’t be thrilled with a big ugly cabinet plunked down in the living room. What can I say, I’m mean.
