Vote for our friends shirt design!
***Update***She won! Congratulations to mamagiraffe on getting her shirt design printed! If you like her design you have until 11:00 p.m. tonight to snatch one up! We got ourselves two!
We’ve made many posts in the past about woot, they are a unique and fun merchant and we’ve gotten lots of great deals from them.
Why I love their shirts:
They’re unique, clever, and high quality (made with American Apparel). No, I don’t work for them and I haven’t recently appeared on a shirt.woot commercial. Oh, and did I mention they’re reasonably priced ($10 is all it costs for a little fashion sense)?
Why they’re cooler, better, faster, stronger than other t-shirt sites (that’s right I’m talking to you Cafe Press):
Cause it is. C’mon, Fat Unicorn? How is that shirt NOT funny? I should know, I own it!

How shirt.woot works:
You can submit a design anytime you’d like. Even at 1:00 in the morning. Or you can try one of their incredibly competitive “Shirt Derby’s”. In a derby, a theme is chosen, people submit their design, then fellow wooters (those that have made a previous purchase on either woot.com, shirt.woot.com, or sellout.woot.com) can vote for it.
Why you should care:
One of our good friends, and local Logan artist, submitted a shirt design in the most recent derby, “The Seven Deadly Sins”, and is now in one of the top 4 positions (called the “fog of war”) out of about 450 shirt submissions! This is a big deal! We’re so excited for her, and hope that this is the one.

“Height Envy”
How you can make her shirt dreams come true:
Vote! If you’ve ever purchased anything from woot before, please go and vote for her! It’s super easy:
- Go to http://shirt.woot.com/Derby/Entry.aspx?id=24912 in your favorite web browser.
- At the top of the page right above the left corner of the picture of the shirt art, there is a box that will say I’D WANT ONE. Click it.
NOTE: Clicking the I’D WANT ONE button does not commit you to buying anything, it is simply a vote for the shirt, if the design wins and you do want to purchase it, you still have to go back to shirt.woot.com once it’s printed and buy it there. Also, This only works if you’ve ever bought something from any of the woot.com sites before and you are logged in.
If you can, please go vote soon, they end the voting in a day or two and then print the winners, so there isn’t much time left, she is so close we just need get as many votes in to ensure her victory!
1 commentNerdiest Bathroom ever.
I saw this a while ago and alerted Mark to the possibility us of having a pac-man inspired bathroom. No, not for us (Mark wishes), I thought it would be a fun kids bathroom. There are only a few pictures, but you can tell from those few what the rest of the bathroom must look like.

This bathroom isn’t in someones home, its a public bathroom in an independent gaming store.
It must have taken some time to do the tiling.
Pretty fun and pretty crazy!
P.S. Mark have you heard this Pac Remix before??
P.P.S. And to anyone else, if you aren’t a super-uber arcade nerd, like my hubby, you’ll probably want to pull your hair out by this song.
P.P.P.S And if I had any friends that we’re girls, I probably wont after this post (“That Melanie is such a nerd”.)
2 commentsWhy buy a new one when you can fix the old one for more?
I don’t write many posts, I leave most of the blog heavy lifting to Mel, and most of you are probably grateful (I’m boring, I know), but I thought I would post about this since I tried to find info on this and there really wasn’t anything out there about it.
Most of you know that I’m an arcade nerd, and you may have seen posts about the Crystal Castles arcade we picked up a while back. It’s a great game, but our trackball was in pretty bad shape, and it was over due for some TLC. We picked up a trackball rebuild kit from The Real Bob Roberts (a fantastic guy to work with, check him out first if you need any arcade parts). We cleaned the case, scrubbed the ball, and replaced the shafts and bearings. It was rolling great and working like new, but it didn’t look like new. The ball (which for Crystal Castles is a translucent cherry red 3″ acrylic ball) was pretty scuffed and dull. I was hoping that after I cleaned it it would get shinier, but it didn’t, it was very matte in appearance.
They do sell replacement new red translucent trackballs, and they really aren’t that expensive (especially from Bob Roberts, seriously, throw some business his way), but the problem with the new trackballs is that they glow more orange than cherry red. They look practically the same when unlit, but there is a definite difference when you shine light through them.
Because I’m cheap I insist on arcade purity, I wanted to find a way to shine my old trackball up instead of buying a new one. I called 2 bowling alleys in town to see if they had some sort of machine that shined up bowling balls that could accommodate my 3″ trackball, they don’t. I searched the internet for anyone else who might have some pointers on this, couldn’t find anything. Then I figured I just try and polish it myself, and it actually worked really well:

As you can see, it shined it up pretty good. I wouldn’t say it’s brand new mirror like shine, but I bet you could probably get pretty close if you ended up spending more time than I did on it. Below are some details on what I did:
6 commentsHappy Birthday Welly Bear!
Happy Birthday Welly! Our little baby, is not so little anymore. He’s growing up so fast! It seems like just yesterday we were in the hospital with him. As soon as I saw our perfect big baby (he was just 3 oz. shy of being 10lbs.) I knew I loved him. I figure most parents feel the same way about their baby. And it’s true you really love them instantly.

Even though he’s a big boy now, he’s still our little baby, and we love his little personality, he does the goofiest things sometimes. He’s sweet and is such a great cuddlier. He teases and knows whats funny.

He is such a smart boy, and picks up on things so quickly. He’s fun to be around, and I miss him when he’s not around.
Happy Birthday!

SO FUN!

We’re pretty excited for another little boy. I’m excited for Welly to have a little brother to play with, I’m excited to continue our very boy theme in the kids room. I’m excited to have matching clothes for the boys.
The baby was very active during the ultrasound, even though I still feel nothing it was fun to watch him move around on the screen. In one picture, he was even waving to us, what a smart boy! And some of the pictures of his face, make me think he was peacefully sleeping and was annoyed by all the poking.
He’s growing right on schedule and they are keeping my due date the same. I think the technician said he weighed a whopping 10 oz. It’s amazing to me how much growing they do in the last few months. I’m sure I’m going to explode the last two months.
P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sister-in-law, HEIDI, you’re awesome, such a great friend, fun to humiliate, and really, really OLD!
13 commentsYou have more voting to do.
Well we find out in 5 days if we’re having a boy or a girl. We don’t really care either way, a boy or a girl would be fun.
What do you think we’re having? Cast your vote! This will be the easiest voting decision you’ll ever have.
10 commentsVery Yummy Utah

If you were to serve a meal (main dish, side dishes, and dessert) entirely with “Utah” in mind. What would you serve?
For example, on the menu would be: GREEN JELLO with interesting and mysterious ingredients suspended within.
8 commentsBus rides are funner than collecting candy.
I know your looking down at those pictures and thinking they’re pretty similar to my last two posts, but I assure you they’re different and the last of the Halloween series. I just wanted to finish out the Halloween posts before too much time passed.
This one is about Halloween day, we took Wellington’s Grandma and Grandpa Farmer (my parents) tricker treating with us around Main Street.
We made it two blocks before Wellsy got bored and “done” with candy collecting.
He sat down on the sidewalk and had a piece of candy, I thought this would perk him up a bit to go on, but then he saw something much more fun. The bus.
Our local public transit bus passed us by and after that we couldn’t get him do to anything else or think about anything else. “Bus, Bus, Bus”!
Luckily my Mom was with us, the bus schedule expert, and she knew right where and when to catch a bus. We took Wellington on a short little ride. He was so happy, I’ve never seen a kid more happy. He ran right to the back and sat by a window. He even knew that pulling the cord would “ding” and stop the bus.
He really loves the bus. His Grandma Farmer takes him on rides pretty often, so whenever he sees a bus now, he points and says, “Grandma, Grandma, Bus”.
Later on in the day we finished out the tricker treating. I really didn’t care that he got any more candy, we mostly went to hang out with family and see Wellington’s cousins in their costumes. He had a cousin that was also a Mario, one that was Lugi, his newest cousin that was Bowser and one that was Princess Peach.
We spent the rest of our Halloween night, relaxing and playing video games. Wellington is allowed a controller (turned off) so that he can play with his Dad. I thought Wellington looked pretty cute next to his Dad “playing” video games.
Halloween was fun, but I’m glad it’s over. Now I can plan and look forward to other things this November; Wellington’s bday, finding out what the sex of our baby is, some snow and Thanksgiving.
