Hypnotism Isn’t Just For Weirdos With Bushy Eyebrows

Abracadan
Mel and I went to a comedy hypnotist show last Friday as a date night. We decided to write about it on our blog, and I think we may have broken all previous blog length records (it’s a long one). We also forgot to bring a better camera, so all of the pics (besides the one above) were taken with my camera, sorry about the poor quality. Below are both mine and Mel’s version of the night (color coded for your convenience). Click the “read more” link to see the whole post.
11 commentsWelly loves his baby Sadie!
Whenever Wellington’s cousin Sadie Mae comes over, he wants to be right where she is. He loves her so much, he loves to pat her head, give her tons of kisses, and help rock her in her carseat and swing. When she was over the other day, I had put her on the bed to wrap her up tight. Wellington wanted to be wrapped up too. They were so cute, swaddled next to eachother. Wellsy looks so huge next to Sadie.

And that yellow blanket that Wellsy is wrapped in, was my baby blanket!
4 commentsCousin Tubby Time
Some of Wellington’s cousins were over and when I said Wellington was getting a tubby, they all wanted in on it. It was fun, Wellsy loved having tubby buddies even if it was a bit crowded. Gray, who usually hates tubbies, cried when I took him out.

They were all pretty cute in there, and its so fun that the cousins live so close. And to the mothers of the other children, if you need a copy of this picture for future blackmail purposes, let me know.
13 commentsDaycation at Lagoon
We’ve been wanting to go to Lagoon for a while now, and we had the opportunity to go on Friday. We found a great deal on tickets through KSL Classified ads, and they were good for only that day, so it worked out perfectly. We left the house early so we’d have plenty of time to pick up the tickets before Lagoon opened at 11a.m. We made good time, picked up our tickets, and made it to Lagoon by 10am. First of all, we got an awesome parking spot. Just five spaces away from the front. I thought we’d be the only ones there that early, but lots of people were there waiting in line already.

Our plan was to stay in the car where it was cool, but I was wetting my pants wanting to get out. I was like a little kid, I couldn’t wait to get in there and start riding rides. I’ve been to Lagoon before, but not for years. Growing up, we actually lived in Farmington and could hear the lions at night, so I was pretty familiar with the park, but this was Mark’s first time. We did get out of the car, and got in line to get Wellington a ticket. The park finally opened, but it still wasn’t 11 yet, so you could go in but you were blocked off and none of the rides were running yet. However, there was a fountain going where kids could run in. It was pretty impressive how the water would shoot up and come down precisely where it was supposed to. There was a few time where Wellington would be standing right over a hole, and as he was leaning down to touch it, the water would shot up at him. Yes, we stood by and laughed.

We went to Lagoon-A-Beach first. And I’m glad we did, it got crowded fairly quick. The water park turned out to be our favorite part of the whole trip. We loved tubbing down the lazy river. Wellington loved running around the shallow part just for the kids. There were slides he could go down, tunnels to run through, and swings. Mark and I took turns going down a large slide on our own.
9 commentsInstead of blogging I’ve….
…been playing, lots of playing, more specifically bike riding. Wellington is totally obsessed now. Besides bike riding a lot, we’ve been busy doing other things. We went down to a baby shower in Kaysville, ran in the sprinklers, Wellington had his first Slurpee (a momentous occasion), and we do a lot of playing over at my in-laws, they are just a hop, skip and jump from our house, so we’re over there a lot.
We also went to Summerfeast, I mean Summerfest, the other week. Its a three day extravaganza of art and food. And that’s why I call it summer”feast” cause we just go for the food. I filled myself with a gyro AND a plate from the dutch oven booth (which was delicious by the way).
We’ve had a busy summer so far, and its feels like its only begun.
So much fun, you’ll have to click the picture to see it all!

UPDATE: I realized last night that some of these songs had bad words in them (I think one of them had REALLY bad words in it). I’m really sorry, I didn’ know, I’m embarrassed to admit this, but I have been listening to most of these songs on a video game I’ve been playing (Burnout Paradise City) and they are all edited in the game. Luckily our site was down for quite a while yesterday so hopefully not too many people actually listened to the songs, but if you did, I’m really really sorry. I left the 1 up that I know doesn’t have any swears…
7 commentsWellington cooling off.
On the spur of the moment Wellington and I ran through the water with our clothes on. He was pretty cute, instead of wanting to run through them though, he just wanted to drink.
I made a larger version of this picture as well, so if you want to see a big one, just click the picture!
I would love to print this off and use it instead of getting studio pictures done. Another one of the reasons I love photoshop, you can create your own photo montages and then print them off. That’s what Barb did for her baby announcements.
What did I do to it? I adjusted the levels, brightness and contrast. Then I used an action on it called, gothic glow! (Scroll down to gothic glow and download it free!) Then I cropped the three pictures and arranged them on one. Added some text and wallah, done.
Need ideas for montages? Go to the Kiddie Kandids site and look through their “Perfect Treasures” collection.

Happy Father’s Day Marky!

Marky is a wonderful father to Wellington. He always is so patient with him, after I’ve lost with him, Mark will calmly take care of him. He is so loving with him. Mark takes him on scooter rides. Mark takes Wellington to Lowes to a build and grow workshop to do little projects. Mark helps a lot with Wellsy. If I need a break and some alone time, he’ll take him for me. If I don’t feel like giving Welly a tubby, Mark will take him in the shower with him.
Mark is a great Dad. I always knew he would be. He’s always been good with kids.

Happy Father’s Day to my Dad and Mark’s Dad as well!
5 commentsSadie, the new fun baby.

I love my newest little niece. I love all her dark hair. Her chubby thighs and skinny ankles, and how she always smells so good. She makes all sorts of funny faces, and she can already smile! I was so excited for my sister to have a baby, its so fun that she’s finally here. Sadie Mae is now 7 weeks old. We love her and love it when she comes to visit. Wellington loves his cousin, and kisses and pats her head whenever he’s given the chance.
I just had to share this picture, she looked so sweet while she was cuddling with her Grandma. And look at that cute little lower lip sticking out as she is sleeping, she looks like a little angel. Babies are so fun!
7 commentsWellington learns to say “no” and how to read on the toilet.
I’m counting down the days when I will potty train Wellington. No, I’m not counting down the days until I can clean up messes on the carpet and in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles underwear, but I’m looking forward to the not cleaning up poo aspect. I can’t wait till he can go to the bathroom by himself. I’ve heard lots of advice about when to potty train, but my plan for Wellington is 2 years old.

He’s already fascinated by using the potty. I’ve sat him up there a few times, and he loves it. He’s happy reading a book and pretending to wipe his bum. He has yet to go while sitting on the potty, but I figure its good practice.

I took some pictures of him while he was practicing the other day. He was just so cute, sitting there and reading his Ratatouille book.
In addition to learning to use the potty, Wellington has learned to say “NO”. “No” is heard pretty often at our house these days, so it’s no wonder he’s learned the meaning. I can’t help myself, but think that his “no’s” are so cute! I’ve been asking him lately if he has a poppy bum, hoping this will get him to recognize when he does it, and when I ask him, the answer is of course “no”.
Here is a video, yes, a potty video, but its so cute, all Aunties and Grandma’s will love it!
