Wellington, 15 1/2 Months old.

I’ve been meaning to post new pics of Wellington, since his haircut. His hair is considerably shorter but much more tough looking. Now when he’s beating up on babies littler than he, his hair will match. He has a hurt eye in these pictures because well his Auntie Barbara doesn’t like him.

Actually, we were over visiting her beautiful new place, and while we were there, Wellington was running and tripped right into a garbage can. It was just a plastic small wastebasket she just bought, it was even still in the bag, but he must have hit it just right.

Later that day, we were walking around the mall, and a Kiddie Kandids girl stopped us and asked us if we’d like a free 8×10. Sure, why not capture his tough guyness?

Wellington is starting to develop his likes and dislikes. He loves his camo boots, and usually brings them to me during the day to have me put them on him. He loves to run, run everywhere. He still loves dancing and will start bobbing to a beat without fail, but HE IS NOT GOING INTO DANCE CLASS, he will go into karate!

He loves computers and buttons, and will choose a real computer over a fun Fisher Price kids toy. He talks all the time. He knows what he is saying, but no one else does. Well, maybe except for his Grandma Farmer, she seems to know how to translate.

He loves his cheese, fruit snacks, meat and noodles. He loves having friends over to his room, and he’ll play like crazy in there if there is someone in there, otherwise he’s up on his mommies lap at the computer.

He loves his tubbies, and if we’re downstairs and I say, “Let’s go have a tubby” he will run and make his way upstairs…he gets so excited. Goofy Guy.

Arcade Party

Once and a while we have a work Arcade Party at our house for some of the guys my husband works with.

It was a great success this year, with 4 guys from work, Mark and his brother-in-law Gary, Me and Wellington and a little friend for Wellington that one of the guys brought. We had hot wings from Ruby Tuesday’s, brownies, and slushies.

An old picture of our arcade. Looks a bit different now with Crystal Castles and more tin signs.

We played all sorts of different games, we had the Markade going, pinball lit, Crystal Castles and a MAME Cocktail Cab, some played the Wii and a little xBox 360.

Overall I think they all had fun, we nerded the night away from 7:30 till about 11:00.

Don’t hate me…

I’ve just been thinking about losing weight lately. This BMI calculator is not exact or scientific in anyway, so dont take it to heart. I got it off of widgipedia.com for goodness sake…but I didn’t need one to tell me I’m overweight.

I know the best solution would be to go work out, and we’re getting there, Mark and I have plans to join a gym, where and when, we’re unsure of but until then, I’m starting to eat less, and more healthy. I went and bought salad stuff, fresh fruit and veggies.

I usually don’t have any self control, I’m the kinda girl who will sneak into the next room and eat cake with her hands if there are no clean forks. I got a few Slim Fast drinks. I’m usually not one to do the Slim Fast thing cause I know exercise will usually do it for me, and Slim Fast kinda seems like a temporary solution but after weighing myself three days ago and seeing the highest number I’ve ever seen before, I decided I’ve got to do something.

Now I also don’t have a super low self esteem, I usually think I’m pretty hot (c’mon its you know its true), but I feel so unhealthy, I get winded easily, and don’t fit into any of my cute clothes anymore.

Hopefully I can keep it up. Oh, and Gary, you need to come get the Twizzlers out of our house!

In case I die:

In case something happens to me and Mark should be on the look out for a new wife (he promised he would wait two weeks out of respect before he started dating again).

I joke around that he wouldn’t be allowed to get remarried if I died. But honestly, I wouldn’t want him to go a lifetime without someone by his side, she just has to be fat, really, really fat. Besides that qualification, here are a few other things it takes to be Mark’s wife.

For Dummies Book Generator – bigoo.ws

Looks good without make-up.
Willing to take out the garbage and occasionally lift heavy objects.
Make tasty lunches daily and deliver them to his work.
Give the occasional back or foot rub.
Can handle teasing, and should almost have a love for it.
Enjoy playing or watching video games.
Find MST3K, Pratt falls, flatulence jokes, and the Jerky Boys funny.
Love to cook, sew, and being a homemaker.
LDS, and active in church.
Have the ability to read minds and know when to jump up and get him a drink of water.
Likes scooter rides and side cars.
Laughs often and speaks softly.
Loves children, wants more and doesn’t give hard spanks.
And Many more to list, you’ll have to buy the book.

In the event that something does happen to me, Mark can marry again, and I guess she doesn’t have to be fat, but I definitely want my mother-in-law to help pick her out. Lets just hope nothing happens to me.

I’m scared to take a shower…

If your wondering why I’m so stinky lately its because I’m scared to take a shower. After watching the bathroom scenes from Arachnophobia, Psycho, What Lies Beneath, or The Grudge I’m always a bit scared to take a bath or a shower.

This shower curtain would certainly add to my fear. I guess if your a big fan of the Alfred Hitchcock film you would definitely pay the $24.98 to cheer up your bathroom with…with murder???

Warning: this is the actual scene from the show!

Honestly the Psycho one doesn’t really scare me that much the Arachnophobia one does….and here’s a bit of Trivia…the blood in the shower…chocolate syrup.

Winter clothes on sale.

See, this is the type of post you would find on my cache valley blog, if I ever got it up and running.

I was at Old Navy today, and they have a ton of great things on sale. Mostly their winter stuff…but its great to stock up, plus its still cold enough outside for winter attire.

I also think they got rid of their maternity section. It wasn’t where it usually is, does anyone know if its coming back or is it gone for good?

300 Recipes

The recipe site is doing great, with almost 300 recipes. Actually we’re about 19 away and I thought it would be fun to try and get 300 by April 1st. And no, this isn’t some diabolical April fools joke, I just thought that date would be easy to remember.

Many people have submitted recipes making the community driven recipe site grow. Its such a great way for sharing your favorite recipes with family and friends. Not only that, but a great resource for figuring out what to make for dinner, or to bring to that next party or potluck dinner.

Again, there are many great features you can find on the Recipe site; comments, recipe ratings, pictures, recipe and ingredient search, last 5 “newest” recipes, and coming very soon…videos! Heidi and I have done a few cooking videos, and we would love your video submissions as well, if you have a video for the recipe site just email me the link at mel@melarky.com

Thanks for all your help and I’m excited to make it to the the 300 mark, we’re so close! So lets see if we can make it, invite your friends and family to register if they haven’t already and get their recipes on-line!

As a reminder, registering is super easy and takes only a second and is not limited to anyone…you don’t even have to know me! Isn’t that great!
