5 commentsYou know what they say about corn on the cob?
I love corn! I’ll make this tv dinner for Mark for lunch sometimes, and it has corn on the cob in it. Mark knows its mine and not his! I don’t really share when it comes to corn on the cob! There’s nothing better then a hot corn on the cob with melty butter, salt and pepper.
I found this Animal Corn Holder the other day. I thought they were pretty fun. There’s a pig, dog or cow one. They were so cute! This site, Wrapables.com has some fun things!
6 commentsI love my Marky almost as much as I love a Lime Rickey.
While I was pregnant and getting ready for the arrival of Wellington we made multiple trips down to Ogden to go to Babies R Us. After shopping we usually made our way to Warren’s, a local burger place that has been there for years.
After having one of their Lime Rickey’s while I was pregnant I craved them for the rest of my pregnancy. I’ve tried a couple of their specialty burgers but one I really liked was their Mount Ogden burger (burger pictured isn’t the Mount Ogden burger).
Well, last Friday after hearing that Mark was going down to Salt Lake with Gary to pick up a bike I mentioned that I wish I could go and we could have gone to Warren’s, but too bad I wasn’t going. Mark kept teasing me that even though it was out of the way they were going to go to Warren’s without me. It made me crazy, I’ve been craving the perfect Lime Rickey and their yummy burgers for so long.
I was sure he wasn’t going to go because it was out of the way and I was also sure he wasn’t going to go because I reassured him I’d probably have to divorce him if he went without me.
Heidi had just talked to Gary on the phone to see where they were at and he said, “we’re just at that burger place” he said. What! Those jerks! I couldn’t believe he went. The next hour and a half thought of all the things I was going to yell at him.
I was upstairs when I heard him come in, he came up and came in with huge Lime Rickey and two Mount Logan burgers for me. He was forgiven. I love my Marky.
12 commentsBaby Wellsy laughing.
My Mom was nice enough to come over today to help me with Wellington so I could get some house cleaning and some errands done. While I was cleaning our super messy room my Mom found one of my belts and was snapping it so it would make a noise and Wellington thought it was the funniest thing. He was almost falling over laughing.
I love his little laugh and when he smiles big I can kinda see dimples. Oh, and dont look at my messy room.
12 commentsOur Quebec Trip revisited.
I still think about our trip to Quebec like it was yesterday. I loved everything about it, the places we went, were we stayed, what we ate, and all the fun memories we made while we were there.
When we were in Montreal we stayed at the Hotel XIX Siecle. A renovated bank, with lots of old Montreal charm. We were really lucky to get a great deal on a four star hotel because we went in the off season (the middle of winter). Mark and I didn’t mind the cold, we actually both really love winter and snow, so it was perfect for us.
While we were in Montreal Mark showed me places he went as a missionary; his apartment, the grocery store he went to, places he tracted. We also did lots of exploring on our own of the Montreal island, did lots of shopping and eating of poutine. We both loved the Metros, there you were able to really hear and use the French language, and it brought back a lot of memories for Mark because that’s how the missionaries got around. There were plenty of crazies riding the metros too. There is a whole underground shopping place all connected with the metros.
After two nights there we made our way up to Old Quebec via a bus ride. We arrived there and it was drizzling freezing rain, we called a car rental place and they came to pick us up. We were warned not to drive after a certain time because the windy steep roads would be covered in ice.
By the time we found our hotel it was kinda late, but we were able to find a place to eat and walk around. Everything was so beautiful and romantic with the cobble stone streets, the light rain (we had umbrellas so this wasn’t a problem), and all the Christmas lights. It was just after Christmas and all the lights were still up, it was so pretty.
We were able to do a lot more driving with the gps in the rental car. We went to near by cities that Mark served in like Charney and Levi. We did more shopping and more poutine eating. We found a bowling alley were we could do some Cois Bowling. It’s bowling where the ball you use fits in the palm of your hand and the pins are smaller.
The great thing about were we stayed was it was right across the street from the famous Le Château Frontenac , and we also got a great deal again on this one and it was great because it was in the heart of Old Quebec. We stayed there for two nights, then drove back to Montreal stopping along the way to see the sights.
The last night we did more shopping, exploring and more riding the Metros. That’s the main way of getting around town, that and walking. We were sad to leave but glad to get back home to our own bed. I was really glad we got to go together when we did.
I’ll always remember how cold it was, how beautiful the snow and lights were, how romantic Old Quebec was, how fun riding the metros were, tying to speak French and ordering a Chocolate Chaud myself. I love you Marky thanks for taking me.

This is kind of a goofy video, but I couldn’t let Heidi post today and me not. The video is about strange names in Utah set to the tune of the Beach Boys’ Kokomo. For those who don’t like Utah (Joe) this will mean nothing to you. Boy the creaters of this video were pretty dedicated!
3 commentsToo grumpy for Raspberries.
I was looking up things to help with teething last night because Wellington has been so miserable with his newest teeth coming in. He’s had one bottom tooth for about a month and a half now and I was wondering when he was going to get more.
Well the last two days he’s been working on two top teeth. Its been a lot of crying and grumpiness. He wants to be held all the time. He doesn’t want to eat and he’s been running a fever. He is doing a lot better today, he’s fever is pretty much gone and he’s less grumpy.
Anyway, I saw this Raspberry Silicone Teether and thought it was different. I’m not going to get it for Wellington though, it looks a bit too girly. But if I had a girl I would totally get it, it looks so cute.

Close to home fire.
Around 5p.m. Monday night, I had just picked up my Dad to have dinner at our house. We both heard loud thunder, then after dinner when we left the house at 7p.m. I noticed tons of smoke coming from what looked to be Millville. Only a few miles away from out house.
It was actually more near Hyrum. A lightning strike sparked the fire and burned hundreds of acres of mountainside. I went outside to get some pictures of it and tried to zoom in as much as I could. I could see the flames from where our house was so they must have been big,
because thats a couple miles away. We had some ash fall on us while we were outside. And at night we could see the red on the mountain from our bedroom window.
It rained today and I’m sure that helped. I didn’t see any smoke today so it seems like its contained. Read more about it from the Hearald Journal

4 commentsI would have gotten 100% if it weren’t for those darn meddling kids!
Mental_Floss has a fun little quiz that lists ten stories, some true and some taken from episodes in the Scooby Doo canon. All you have to do is vote on whether you think the story is true or Scooby Doo. It was actually harder than I thought it would be, and I only scored a 70%. I was only really sure about 1 or 2 of them though.
