Sorry Heidi, no swears.
My sister Barbara has a fun feature on her blog. She features a new song and video each week. She always picks fun songs to feature (clean songs with no swears, sorry Heidi, I know how you like those swears) and she has fun videos to watch too. Although the latest video is kinda weird (sorry Barbara). You should check it out (shameless plug for Barbara and Ryan).

The Office “Re-cut”
Here’s a fun one with the American Office, but “re-cut” to be like a crime thriller.

Mel’s take:I’ve only ever seen Virgil’s Cream Soda in Keg form, until the new Macey’s opened in Providence and they started carrying a huge selection of glass bottled sodas. They had Virgil’s Cream Soda in a bottle and boy was it delicious. Highly reccomended! Its very smooth and a real “micro-brewed” drink. Very vanilla! It was good but a very sweet drink, not something to quench a thirst.
Mark’s take:
I’ve always liked Virgils cream soda better than their root beer, and the bottle form is no different. It is probably the “creamiest” cream soda I have tasted, with lots of vanilla taste, and even though honey is not listed in the ingredients, it definately has a “honey-like” aftertaste. I’m not a huge cream soda fan, I usually prefer root beer, but this is definately one to make the exception for, and now that we found them in bottles, it is much easier to justify picking a few up to enjoy (it was a little harder to bring myself to buy a large keg of it when I only like it in moderation).
If you get a chance, definately try this out, this is not your garden variety cream soda, it really is unique (in a good way) and worth a taste.

Wellington wishes he had some.

Diffrence between a dwarf and a midget
This is a clip from the Brittish Office. We like both the Brittish Office and the American Office. Both are so clever, but the Brittish one is a lot different. We saw the Brittish Office before we started watching the American one and we really like it.

27 commentsWellington’s big day

Yesterday was Wellington’s baby blessing. It was so fun and such a nice day. I thought that the blessing Mark gave was very nice and the lunch was so tasty.
In attendance were My parents, my sister Carrie, sister Barbara and her husband Ryan. Mark’s parents, his sister Holly, sister Heidi and her husband Gary (and kids), his brother Scott and wife Korby (and kids), Mark’s Uncle Mark and Granny Bannatyne, friends Chris and Kori Russel and friends James and Shayla Riley. Mark’s sister Heather and her family got sick and we were so sad they couldn’t come, they were missed by all.
The food was good. I made sloppy joes from Sister Riley’s recipe (she makes a great Sloppy Joe, and I will be posting the recipe soon). I over planned and had a whole crockpot full of left overs. We had some great salads, veggies, chips and desserts. Thanks to everyone for bringing something.
I loved the outfit I put Wellington in. I got a little white tux at Dillards a few weeks ago. I’m glad he still fit into it, I was worried he wouldn’t. And thanks to Heidi for the great bow tie, it made the outfit. He wasn’t fussy at all and was just a little tired, but stayed awake because he didn’t want to miss all the fun and attention. He finally did fall asleep towards the end.
It was fun to visit with everyone and to share Wellington’s blessing with family and friends. There are some pretty great pictures on our Gallery of the day. You can also read a post by Heidi on stopthinkingaboutme.com and see some more pictures on her Gallery.
The above picture was taken at JCPenny’s Portrait Studio, and I should be getting those pictures back soon. If you would like to see more of those blessing pictures taken at JCPenny’s, just let me know in your comments and I can email you the page and access code to view them.
10 commentsNo sleep
The first few weeks of Wellington’s life, he slept through the night, usually up to 8 to 9 hours without waking up. Now it’s much diffrent. Waking every 2 to 3 hours to eat. I guess he’s going through a growth spurt or something. Some nights are better than others, a good night would be sleeping for 5 hours straight. I’ve also been feeling lazy because we’ve been sleeping in, but some nights he doesn’t go to sleep until 4 in the morning. I used to tease Heidi about her sleeping in, but I dont tease anymore (well, I still might tease a little, but now I know the truth).
I also think he might have his days and nights turned around, any suggestions on how to fix that?
The picture was taken about two or three weeks ago. It was his first time sleeping in his crib.
