Banna makes 100 just in time!

Just a quick congratulatory shout-out to Banna for making 100 comments! Way to go Banna, you’re going to give Heather a run for her money in 2007! Especially with your one word per comment! (Good stuff…)
Does anyone else think Heather is a jerk?
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be popular? To be better than everyone else? To be the envy of every Jane and Jerry on the block?
Now you can! With the start of the New Year the current top commentators will automatically reset and everyone will start back at zero. Currently, Heather Mckay is the Top Commentator at 160 comments and counting. Heather always leaves great comments on everyones blogs and we love her for it. But sorry Heather, you’ll have to earn your number one spot again.
Whoever is in the number one spot at the end of 2007 will get a “Melarky.com 2007 Top Commentator” t-shirt! (a future post will feature the design and look of the shirt) Anyone is eligiable, you just have to be “THE” top commentator, the one with the most comments. Good luck and Happy Commenting.
Note: I dont think Heather is a jerk, I just thought “boy, that’s a great eye catching title for a post, everyone will have to read it then”….
23 commentsChomp Champs

As tradition would have it, we went out to eat with Heidi and Gary for our anniversaries(Dec. 27th). Ruby Tuesdays’ had the promise of getting your picture on the wall so we went there. Gary and Mark did the “Chomp Champ” challenge. They both stuffed themselves and succeeded. To get your picture on the wall you had to eat their colossal burger, fries and one of their famous tall cakes (friends can help with the cake). We had a great time and some how all of us made it on the wall (I guess because Heidi and I helped with the cake) We love our tradition of going out to eat for our joint anniversary. Mark and I have been married three years and Heidi and Gary-five years.

Wellington’s blessing.
We’ve decided to bless Wellington on Saturday, January 27th at 1:30 p.m. (we have the church until 4p.m.) Anyone is welcome to come. It is at the 18th ward building, in the cultural hall (if your from out of town and need directions-email me).
We will bless him then have a potluck lunch. If you’ld like to bring something that would be awesome. Nobody has assignments yet, so salads, drinks, chips and desserts are available. I’m making sloppy joes as the main dish.
Anyway, we’d love to have everyone come, and we’ll be in the cultural hall so all the kids can run free.
11 commentsFun Christmas

We had a fun first Christmas with Wellington. We woke up about 8:30(not by choice) and opend our presents. Mark’s big present was his Nintedo Collectors edition Monopoly game(Ciel you need to come play with us, you’ld love it). Wellington loved his swing and I got lots of fun things and some pedicure supplies with a promise of a pedicure(Mark, sorry to reveal you give pedicures to me).
6 commentsA Sad Christmas Story…
Several weekends ago, I was rushing around trying to do some shopping. I was stressed out and not thinking very fondly of the weather right then. It was dark, unseasonably cold, and wet in the parking lot.
As I was loading my car up, I noticed that I was missing a receipt that I might need later. So, mumbling under my breath, I retraced my steps to the mall entrance.
As I was searching the wet pavement for the lost receipt, I heard a quiet sobbing. The crying was coming from a poorly dressed boy of about 12 years old. He was short and thin. He had no coat. He was just wearing a ragged flannel shirt to protect him from the cold night’s chill. Oddly enough, he was holding a hundred-dollar bill in his hand.

It’s super easy to make yourself an elf. Just follow the instructions, upload a picture and record a message over the phone. I tried out my face, Mark’s, Wellington’s and my brother-in-law Gary. Send your greeting to a friend. It’s very easy and funny to do.
Here is what Gary’s looks like: Sorry Gary. Click here to see Gary in tights and doing an Elf dance!!!

9 commentsHolly looks like Heidi, Heidi looks like Holly.
Mark and I both agree that Holly looks a ton like Heidi when she straightens her hair. I think we all saw the pics of her hairdo on Holly’s blog, but wanted to see a more close-up picture-here it is thanks to Banna. Holly, we all love your hair and understand why you look at yourself in the mirror. There is no shame in checkin’ yourself out.
At EB
Mark and I were Christmas shopping in the mall the other night and our shopping took us into EB Games(thanks to Marky). They had one of the new Wii systems there, and Mark tried to get me to try it. Wii is the new Nintedo game system. He finally convinced me to give it a try. It was a little embarrassing to do it in the store with 12 year olds watching and a little akward holding the “remote-like” controller. I tried a car racing game and you had to hold it like you were steering a steering wheel. It was fun to try but different because of the controller. the graphics were really fun and the game was fun, but I want to try a diffrent one. Mark really wants one, but its an expensive toy($250.00). Mark will just have to get his game time in with the other 12 year olds at EB games.
Here is a youtube.com video of what it can do, some of you that arent video game fans, may get bored after the first two minues….:) but, WATCH IT ANYWAY.
