No time

It’s been so hard to keep up the blogging momentum. I have so many things I could post about, but I can’t ever find the time. Also I haven’t been able to keep up on everyone else’s posts…Sorry all, I know you anxiously await my comments…but hopefully I’ll get into some sort of a routine and schedule.

With cousin Gray

Wellington has a lot of catching up to do with his cousin Gray. Gray is Heidi and Gary’s newest baby, and what a chunk he is. Gray is such a smiley baby and so cute. I think Wellington and Gray will be buddies and get into plenty of trouble. It was fun to be pregnant the same time as Heidi and now its fun to have the cousins together.

First 2 weeks home

We’ve had baby Wellington home for two weeks now. I’m feeling pretty good but still taking it kinda easy. Wellington lost some weight the first few days (which is normal), but is now back up to 9 lbs. 2 oz. He eats all the time, so I’m sure he’ll be growing pretty fast and be a chunk in no time. He’s a really good baby, and only cries when he’s hungry or needs a diaper change. Even then he’s pretty good during his diaper changes. He loves to be cuddled and we spoil him and cuddle him all the time. The first few nights we’re pretty rough, but now I think I’m getting used to no sleep. Although the last few nights he’s been sleeping 5 and 6 hours straight (it’s heaven) We love having him home and we’re so happy. Oh, and he’s a really stinky baby, so we’ve been calling him Smellington.

Thanksgiving Movies?

Now that Thanksgiving is over, and the Christmas “spirit” is really starting to ramp up thanks to our corporate friends, I got to thinking about holiday movies. I have a handful of movies that I can watch every year, around Christmas time to get me in that giving mood, but what about Thanksgiving. It seems like there just aren’t that many Thanksgiving movies out there.

The only Thanksgiving movie that really comes to mind is the Steve Martin and John Candy classic Trains Planes and Automobiles (Mammy got me an edited copy from Flicks last year, I love that movie). I know I’m probably missing some (that can’t be the only one), but I can’t think of any for the life of me. Let me know which ones I’ve missed in the comments.

He could be a banker!

As most of you know, we finally had our baby, and both mom and baby are healthy and doing great.

He was a large baby boy, coming in at 9 lbs. 13 ounces and 22 inches long. We have decided on the name Wellington William Joseph Stevenson (it’s a tradition in my family to have 2 middle names). We really like the name Wellington, and both of us agree that it pretty much solidifies his future as a banker (or some other respectable profession, hence the title). You just don’t meet any homeless bums named Wellington :)

He was born on November 14th at 7:30pm. We just got back home today and are now adjusting to having the baby home with us. He’s doing great eating and Melanie is doing great too.

We have updated the photo gallery with some pictures of Wellington.

6 days overdue

I had an appt. today, and there was good news. I’m dialated to a 2 and 80% effaced. Also Dr. Heiner stripped my membranes, that should get labor started. Should be soon…

Not my baby…

A woman in Brazil has given birth to a “giant baby” weighing 17lb (8kg) – twice the size of an average newborn.

Ademilton was born by Caesarean section on Wednesday at a hospital in Salvador in north-eastern Brazil. He is Francisca Santos’ fifth child and doctors said his unusual size was probably due to his mother’s diabetes condition. Mrs Santos, 38, has four other children – aged nine, 12, 14, and 15 – who were all of normal weight when they were born.

Ademilton is being given glucose solution intravenously, to maintain a safe level of blood sugar, because of his mother’s diabetes. He is also receiving oxygen because of breathing problems. But his general state of health is good, according to the hospital director. “Both mother and baby are doing just fine,” said Rita Leal, director of the Albert Sabin Maternity Hospital.

The Guinness Book of World Records says the heaviest baby ever was born to Anna Bates of Canada in 1879, weighing 23.12lb (10.8kg).

Any guesses on how big our baby will be???

a baby is good too I guess…

I am really excited to have our baby, it will be nice when he is finally here. It’s funny though I’m almost as excited to have Mark home for a week too. When the baby comes he’s going to take a week off of work. I look forward to being home with him and the baby and enjoying some time together as a new family. Mark teases me and says and he’s going on vacation for that week to Disneyland like we always talked about. Funny guy. Anyway, it will be so nice to have Mark home. Hopefully it will be soon. :)

Celebration Centre

Curious about the new attraction in Logan? I drive past and wonder what its all about. I haven’t been there yet personally, but the prices look really good. Go to their site and you can see what kind of activites, rides, and food they provide. I was watching the valley channel the other day and it looked pretty fun. Mark and I will have to go and check it out.

Alarm for late baby

Mark and I were almost asleep last night when my baby timer went off playing Brahams lullabye (twice and nice and loud). An alarm a little too early for a late baby (well I guess he has until tonight before he’s officially late).
