LOVE It!
I love the new hat I got for our baby. We wanted him to match us with our hats we got on our Quebec trip. We were lucky to find a brand new baby gap one on ebay for a great price. I got it in the mail yesterday and I took right over to Heidi and Gary’s so I could try it on Gray (he’s been my little helper to try on things).
It looked so cute on Gray and I cant wait to put it on our little guy this winter. Hopefully there will be some ultra nerdy family photos of us in our hats. Here is a pic of Mark and I in our hats…
Funnest surprise shower
On Saturday, Mark and I went for a drive, he started to drive past the 18th ward building, and stopped the car. I was pretty confused why we were stopped there, then I saw some cars I recognized. I knew then that something was up. Everyone surprised me with a chocolate themed baby shower.
Everything was perfect. All the games we played were so fun and all about the things I love (chocolate). It was fun to have my Aunt Susan and Cousin Madison there as well as my friends Kirsten and Meki. Also in attendance was; my mother-in-law, Mickey, sister-in-law’s Korby, Heidi, Heather and her daughter Ciel. My sisters, Barbara, Carrie and my niece Dianna. My mom couldn’t come because she was really sick but her and I will do something special together when she feels better.
Everyone worked so hard on the decorations, invitations, games, food and all the fun we had. I want to thank everyone for all the fun presents too. I thought I had everything I needed, but I was wrong. I’m now stocked up on diapers and wipes, lotions and creams. I got many cute clothes and cute socks, bottles, an awesome bee quillow Dianna made, and a knit bee blanket that Holly made. A nursing stool to go with my glider, fun baby toys, a survival basket from Heather and a special book from my Mom that everyone signed. Everyone loves the womb bear that my Aunt Susan and Madison gave, and I cant wait to see if Marky Jr. will love it too (he better or else).
There were a lot of pictures taken by Barbara and Heather, and as soon as they get them up on the web I’ll make another post with the links. So get going Heather and Barbara! Just Kidding.
Thanks again everyone and I’m such a lucky girl.
Update: Both Heidi and Heather have made posts about the shower-Check them out and Here is a link to the pictures Heather took of the shower-click here to see them!
2 commentsLet’s skip to Christmas…
I woke up this morning and looked out the window and this is what I saw…

If you were up really early (and in Logan) you would have seen some slushee snow on the ground. I’m so excited for winter and Christmas time, It’s my favorite time of year and I can’t wait. I guess I love it for lots of different reasons. The cold for one, I’m much happier being cold than hot. Winter time reminds me of our blizzard wedding, our trip to cold Quebec, and of course all the fun Christmas memories. Its a little premature but I listened to some Christmas songs today. Here’s one for you by Dean Martin…

6 commentsPrepared, as far as I can tell…
I’m feeling now like we’re pretty prepared for the baby to get here. We have pretty much all the big important stuff. There are a few things I’d like to still get like a few bottles, maybe a few more winter outfits, hats and socks. I even went shopping yesterday and looked at the baby toys and thought how fun it will be this Christmas to shop for our baby. I’m still trying to sew a few more things before he gets here; Crib bedding, some pontufalas (warm knit booties) and maybe another blanket or two. I’m feeling good right now with the exception of being tired once and a while (last night I was up at from 5-6 a.m. being kicked so hard) from lack of sleep. Hopefully I’ll keep feeling good…
7 commentsCan’t leave home without it.
While we were on our trip in Canada, our rental car had a gps in it, and we fell in love. It was so handy and worry-free. We’ve been looking for a good deal on a gps and found one the other week. We have a Magellan RoadMate 360. It has voice prompting, turn-by-turn guidance, touch screen and 2 million points of interest. When we went down to Salt Lake City the other week, we used it to find our destination, then to find a place to eat dinner. We found three different DI’s and shopping places. Its great too if your on confusing freeways and you miss an exit, it just re routes you, so there is no stressing out over getting lost. We love it and use it whenever we can.
Mayan and 3-D Movie
One more post about our trip…We also ate at the Mayan. The Mayan is at the Jordan Commons in Sandy, Utah. They have 30-foot cliff divers, magic shows, balloon artists, and mariachi bands. I had eaten there before but Mark hadn’t.

We had a good time and whenever the divers started a show we ran up to the front with all the little kids to see them dive. To see a flash video of the resteranunt click here to go to their site-www.themayan.com

Afterwards we went to see Superman Returns in 3D. It was a fun experience, diffrent, but fun. IMAX 3D films fully immerse you in the movie. The picture of Mark is at home, trying out a cereal box-pair of 3D glasses. IMAX 3D glasses look kinda like sunglasses. It was hard to get used to the glasses over my normal glasses. But it was fun to see an IMAX movie and I’d love to do it again.

7 commentsCarriage Ride in Salt Lake

After our dinner at The Roof we decided to throw caution to the wind and take a carriage ride. During our trip to Quebec last January, we missed our chance to go on a carriage ride due to a crazy quebecois guy and me yelling at him (that’s another story), so we wanted to make sure and get our romantic ride through the city this time. We opted for the shortest ride possible since we were so full and Mark was anxious to get to a bathroom. We did the thirty-minute ride from Temple Square to Liberty park and then back to Temple Square. It took a bit to get somewhat used to the horsy smells, but once you got past that it was fun.
About halfway through the ride, Mark started sneezing un-controllably. That’s when we found out Mark must be allergic to horses. All the sneezing from Mark killed the romantic mood (just kidding, I didn’t mind). After the ride we got a picture then went right to our hotel room so Mark could wash his hands and face to try and get rid of allergic reaction. It was fun to try a carriage ride, but we probably wont do it again. It is kind of like room service, its fun to try it once but not practical to do it all the time.
3 commentsDinner at The Roof

The first night of our Salt Lake trip we ate at The Roof at the Joseph Smith memorial building. We ate there on our honeymoon so it was fun to go back and relive the memories. It is a super fancy gourmet buffet. We got there a bit early for our reservations and then we had to wait another few minutes while our table was getting ready. During the 30 minute wait I went to the bathroom 4 times. And before we left the restaurant that night I went another two times. I really am the TM queen. We had a great dinner and stuffed ourselves. My favorite part is the dessert buffet with over 25 different desserts (my dream come true). We had a great table right at the window in front of the temple. I had our waitress take a picture of us (no shame).

Check back for more posts about the rest of our trip.
3 commentsThe Inn at Temple Square
Mark and I took off for one last hoorah before our baby gets here. We went down to Salt Lake for a fun weekend. I didn’t want to get too far away from home, but far enough where it felt like a vacation.
We stayed at the Inn at Temple Square. It was a fun, old hotel, right across from temple square. Our room was way nice, with a great view of the city (temple square mostly) from the fifth floor. They had many great amenities one of which was free valet parking. It was our first experience with valet parking and we thought afterwards we probably shouldn’t have given them ALL our keys.
Mark and I really liked the complimentary breakfast buffet at their restaurant. They had a fun make-your-own waffle maker. I tried it out and struggled with the waffle maker in front of a line of other guests and Mark just stood there not helping me. He’s like that.

Check back for more exciting posts about what we did, where we ate, how many times I used the bathroom within 30 mintues, and how we found out Mark is allergic to horses.
Check out more pictures of our room at the Inn at Temple Square in our gallery.
