I’ve been updating the photo albums with more photos that I had kicking around on my computer. If you haven’t browsed the photo albums recently, it would be good to go check them out now.

Here is the first recipe I’m posting…
Navajo Fry Bread
From the kitchen of Mark and Mel Stevenson

2 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup instant nonfat dry milk
1 tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons lard or shortening
¾ cup water
oil to fry in

In a large bowl stir flour, dry milk, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening or lard until mixture is like cornmeal. Add water, stirring with a fork until it clings together. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth (about 5 minutes). Divide into 6 balls. Press each ball out. Fry in 1 inch of hot oil browning both sides until crispy.
